25th Annual Bangor Hamfest June 2, 2012   Please check back often for updates Rain or Shine!!!    Talk in on 146.940 (100.0) The PSARC is undertaking an exciting project to coincide with the Hamfest this year.  We are working with the University of Maine Electrical and Computer Engineering Department to plan and execute a high altitude balloon launch on June 2.  The payload will at a minimum will contain APRS for position and altitude tracking, a voice repeater (147.57 uplink and 446.100 downlink), an instrumentation package to measure conditions, and a cameras to record the event.  If anyone has a suggestion about another payload package please speak up.  (an HD transmitter for live video would be nice)   The main goal is to provide an unusual event for the Hamfest to increase attendance and participation.  Any club members that want to get involved in the project are welcome.  There will be small and large roles for the event so we can find something for everyone.  The launch will end with a transmitter (fox) hunt.  In other words, we have to go and retrieve our gear.
